Cascina San Carlo, designed by B22 in team with Carlo Venegoni, will soon become a new home for vulnerable families in Milan, thanks to an agreement between SON and Comune di Milano.
Cascina San Carlo, located in Milan’s Adriano district, is being transformed into a community-focused space. The project includes restoring a 1915 building, creating a social residence for families in need, and revitalizing the surrounding park.
Started in 2016 by a group of parents with children facing challenges, the project aims to create a ‘solidarity village’ where families can support each other. The restored buildings will offer apartments for families, common spaces for activities, and a multi-purpose room for community events.
The project also involves restoring the area’s agricultural heritage and creating a more connected neighborhood. It’s part of a larger effort to revitalise the Adriano district.
